Stocks, ETFs and mutual funds are equity. Treasury bills, municipal, mortgage, bonds, etc. are defined fixed income securities. Everything you own is enabled in your portfolio. The goods are things like oil, gold, copper, steel, etc. are a good hedge against inflation. Commodities are in the news mainly because the value has been the falling dollar and against other currencies.

The question is not entirely clear.

The raw materials are another investment vehicle. An asset is something that makes money for you.
